Stabbing at Festival Leisure. Woman hit by car in another incident

DETECTIVES are appealing for information following two separate incidents reported overnight at Festival Leisure Park, Basildon.

At around 2.35am today (Saturday 4 September), it was reported that a car driving dangerously in the car park had hit a woman in her 20s. The driver failed to stop at the scene.

Officers conducted a search of the surrounding areas and identified the car believed to have been involved travelling along the A13.

The car was stopped within 30 minutes of the initial report and all three occupants were arrested.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment, but her injuries are not being treated as life-threatening or life changing.

Two men from Grays, a 20-year-old and a 25-year-old, and a 20-year-old man from Tilbury were all arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent. They remain in custody.

Officers also attended Festival Leisure Park just after 4am this morning, after receiving reports of fighting seen outside Bella Italia.

Upon arrival, they found that an 18-year-old man had received several stab wounds to his back.

His injuries were not deemed to be serious and he is recovering in hospital supported by officers.

A 17-year-old boy and an 18 year-old man, both from Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire, and a 20-year-old man from Whitechapel, London, have all been arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent.

They also remain in custody.

Officers are continuing to carry out enquires in the area, but both incidents are believed to be unrelated.
