ST LUKE'S Hospice recently hosted a special thank you event for local business supporters. 

Sponsors of the 'Luke's Lawn' and 'Blossom and Beans' initiatives attended the breakfast event held at St Luke's Hospice's Thurrock location.  

Eileen Marshall, CEO and Gerry Peaty, Chair of Trustees welcomed Mayor of Thurrock Cllr Kairen Raper, Deputy Mayor Cllr Sue Shinnick and local companies committed to supporting the Hospice to raise much needed funds. 

After breakfast, attendees were given a tour of the Hospice and grounds, including the gardens, flower beds and lawns which wrap around the building.  

The on-site vegetable patches also grow produce for 'Luke's Sunflower Cafe', which is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm and open to the public (located at the Thurrock Hospice off Lower Dunton Road). 

Jackie Ross, Corporate Fundraising Manager said: "Corporate connections are essential for St Luke's Hospice. Our wonderful business supporters of both 'Luke's Lawn' and 'Blossoms and Beans' have provided vital income and support. We are extremely grateful to all the local companies who have chosen to nominate and support us - through donations, fundraising, volunteering and more."  

This festive season the charity is encouraging businesses to show 'Kindness with Colleagues' by decorating the St Luke's Virtual Christmas Tree or the Corporate Christmas Tree where colleagues can pick a bauble, bow or star on the tree, add a message of thanks or support for the Hospice team and upload a photo or company log – then share with their business networks to show their Kindness with Colleagues.
