Rider suffered serious injuries in retail park collision

POLICE are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage of a collision in Basildon this morning (Friday, 22 July) which left a motorbike rider seriously injured.

It happened at 7.45am when the rider was involved in a collision with another vehicle near to McDonalds at the Mayflower retail park.

The rider, a man 40s, was been taken to hospital after sustaining life-threatening injuries.

Road closures followed while a police collision team and forensic experts conducted investigations at the location.

Lane 1 of the A127 approaching the Mayflower (west bound) was closed and there was a full closure of the off slip towards the retail park.
