RESIDENTS who live on Witchards in the Kingswood area of Basildon are calling for action to stop their grass verges being churned up by thoughtless parkers.

Not only is it turning the roadside into a quagmire, the vehicles are causing problems by collapsing drains - with residents having to pick up the cost.

One resident took to social media to highlight the problem and called on Basildon Council to take action.

He says: "Witchards' landscaped areas are being ruined by inconsiderate motorists parking.

"This area is being ripped apart. It makes the area look so depressing plus as a leaseholder I have been charged by the council to pay for the water board to fix the collapsed drain that has been caused by large 4×4s and vans parking.

"I would call on local councillors to see what can be done?"
