A CONSULTATION has been launched to get the views and experiences of residents in Basildon on community safety, to help shape its priorities in the borough moving forwards.
Every three years, Safer Basildon develops a strategy that outlines how partners will work together to focus on specific priorities to make the borough safer.
The results from the consultation with the community, as well as data analysis by Safer Basildon of the trends and patterns relating to crime, disorder, anti-social behaviour, and other community safety issues in the borough will inform the priorities and focus for Safer Basildon.
Leader of Basildon Council and Chairman of the Public Order and Enforcement Committee Cllr Andrew Baggott said: "This consultation is about understanding the concerns you have about your local area, to help us develop a strategy of our community safety priorities over the next three years.
"Safer Basildon do such great work in the borough, and the partnership between all the crucial partners involved means we can all work together to help make Basildon a safer place for everyone.
"This is your opportunity to tell us what issues really matter to you. I also recognise that while listening is important, actions are even more so. In that regard, I will be taking responsibility for ensuring that there are key actions that are acted upon following the consultation, and that you, the public, are clear about what is going to be done and what actually is done."
The authorities included in the Safer Basildon Partnership are Basildon Council, Essex Police, Essex County Council, Essex Fire and Rescue Service, The Probation Service, NHS, and the Basildon and Brentwood Clinical Commission Group.
The consultation launched on Friday, 19 November and will close on Friday, 14 January 2022. It can be completed via this link
