DETECTIVES investigating a disturbance at a home in Longfield Close, Wickford, are appealing for witnesses.

It was reported to us shortly after 10.05pm on Friday, 10 June, that three people forced their way into the property.

Officers attended the address and found two injured people – a woman, 30s and a man, 20s.

Both were taken to hospital for treatment for stab wounds which are described as not life-threatening.

All three suspects wore face coverings. One was described as a woman of very slim build and two men, one very slim build and the other of large build.

Detective Inspector Stewart Eastbrook, CID, leading the investigation, said: "We know that this will cause some concern for the community, but we are currently working hard to quickly identify those involved in the incident.

"We will remain at the location today whilst we carry out our enquiries and to reassure residents who can speak to our officers directly.

"We would ask anyone who was in the vicinity at the time to check their dash cam footage or residents to check doorbell footage, to see if they have captured anything that might help our investigation.

"If you witnessed the incident or have any information, you can submit a report online at https://www.essex.police.uk where you can use the 'Live Chat' button to speak to an online operator between 7am and 11pm. Please quote crime reference 1303 of 10 June.

"You can also call us on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
