OFFICERS from Wickford Community Policing Team rescued three dogs found in appalling conditions from a location just off A127 Wickford they were locked in a container.

All three dogs were under fed and emaciated but are now in the care of Essex Police and will be handed over to a local dog charity to take care of them.

A police spokesperson said: "Enquiries were made at the location, but no one is accepting responsibility for them, which is rather unfortunate and frustrating for everyone."
