Police renew appeal for information on vicious Basildon attack in which teenage boy was injured

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a teenage boy was assaulted in Basildon at around 4.30pm on Wednesday, 7 August.

The victim reported being on his bike in Whitmore Way when he was approached by a man who punched him and then stamped on his head while he was lying on the ground.

The boy, who is believed to have fallen unconscious during the incident, was taken to hospital with a fractured wrist.

A statement from Essex Police says: "We are appealing to anyone who might have been in the area at the time and witnessed the incident to contact us, we specifically want to talk to a man who intervened and might have information which could help our investigation.

"Anyone with information on this incident should contact us as soon as possible. Please cite incident 42/120398/24.
