Police appeal for info after church raid

POLICe officers investigating criminal damage at a church in Basildon are appealing for witnesses.

The burglary took place sometime between 28 and 29 October at Grade II listed St. Margarets Church, Old Church Road, Bowers Gifford.

The church sustained damage to various parts of the building including the roof, porch and stained-glass window.

A police statement says: "If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.
