Detectives investigating a robbery in Basildon are asking for witnesses to contact them.

Officers were called shortly before 11.30pm on Saturday 15 July following reports of a robbery at Cashino Gaming, South Walk, Basildon.

A member of staff reported being threatened by a man armed with a knife who demanded money.

The suspect is described as a tanned male, in his 30s, and approximately 5ft 9ins tall. He has a distinctive tattoo on his right calf which appears to show a black insect at the top of at least four circular marks lower down the calf. He was wearing a red hoodie with white writing on the front, a black face covering, grey shorts, white socks and black adidas trainers.

No one was injured.

Officers continue their enquiries to establish the facts and would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time who may have seen something that can help their investigation.
