Money and jewellery stolen from property

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Basildon.

It was reported that at around 6.30pm on Tuesday, 11 January two men attended a property in Ghyllgrove Close claiming to be delivering a parcel. Once the occupier opened the door to them, they pushed past. They searched the property, taking a quantity of money and jewellery.

Suspect 1 is described as a white man with a tanned complexion, 20s, slightly taller than 5ft 1ins. He was wearing a yellow/green and white coat similar to a high visibility jacket with his hood up, a black scarf covering the bottom half of his face and wearing gloves.

Suspect 2 is described as slightly taller man than the first man and he was wearing a similar coat.

Anyone who witnessed part of the incident or saw people acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the incident is asked to contact police on 101 and quote crime reference 42/9094/22.

A statement from the force says: "We would ask anyone driving in the area at the time to check their dash cam to see if they have captured any footage that may help our enquiries. If you recognise the men concerned, please call us.
