RESIDENTS and motorists have been warned to expect heavy rain this afternoon (Wednesday, 20 Septmber) which could bring flooding and travel disruption.

A deluge is expected across the south east from around 4pm and it will continue through the evening and into the early hours of tomorrow.

The Met Office says bus and train services will probably affected with journey times taking longer and there could be interruption to power supplies and other services.

It adds: "There is a small chance of flooding to a few homes and businesses."
