SOUTH Essex gymnastics coach and GB Olympic double gold medal winning star Max Whitlock broke from his busy training schedule as he prepares for the Tokyo Olympics to meet the two Basildon Twinning Association youngsters who raised more than £2,000 for cancer charities during the Covid Lockdown period.

Ryan Donnelly took part in the Cancer Research UK 10km Winter Run and Llyam Curtis participated in the Prostate Cancer UK March for March Challenge.

Max had read about their exploits and was happy to meet the guys. He was keen to ask how they had got involved in the charitable activities and also discussed their sporting activities.

Max was impressed with the thoughtful contributions that the boys had made to helping others and presented them with vouchers for a driving experience donated by a firm who were equally impressed with the efforts made by Ryan and Llyam.

The boys and their families were surprised by the gift and left wishing Max all the best for the Olympics. Max equally wished the boys good luck for their future aspirations.
