Man dies in late night A130 crash

A MAN has died following a crash on the A130 to the north of Wickford last night (Monday, 12 July).

It happened at the A130 Rettendon Turnpike just before 10.30pm.

Firefighters assisted at the scene of a collision involving two vehicles. Crews from Rayleigh Weir, Chelmsford and Wickford were called by Essex Police to the Southend-bound carriageway.

A Volkswagen Beetle had left the road and crews worked with paramedics to remove a man from it and adminster first aid. They left him in the care of the Amulance Service at 11.07pm.

However, Police have since confirmed the man, aged 60, has died.
