Local talent to the fore for 'A Few Good Men'

IN May 2023, Basildon resident Richard Orchard-Rowe will be directing a production of A Few Good Men, working with a talented group of non-professional actors from the local community.

The play will be staged at the Towngate Theatre, and promises to be an exciting and entertaining event for audiences of all ages.

This will be Richard Orchard-Rowe's second time stepping into the role of Director, usually finding himself on the performing side of the experience.

He enjoyed his first directorial debut last year with two original plays that enjoyed a sell-out run.

A Few Good Men is a gripping drama about the trial of two US Marines accused of murder, and the legal and ethical challenges faced by their defence counsel.

The play was written by Aaron Sorkin, the celebrated screenwriter and playwright, and was first staged on Broadway in 1989.

The Basildon production of A Few Good Men will feature a cast of talented non-professional actors, all of whom have been working hard under Richard Orchard-Rowe's guidance.

Ben Martins who plays the lead character the lead character Daniel Kaffee.

The production promises to be a showcase of the incredible talent and creativity that exists within the Basildon arts community.

Speaking about the production, Richard said: "I am absolutely thrilled to be working with this amazing group of actors on A Few Good Men. It's an incredibly powerful play, and I am confident that our production will do justice to Aaron Sorkin's brilliant script. We have a fantastic cast and crew, and I know that audiences in Basildon will love this production."
