Firearm may have been used in incident at Basildon home

POLICE are investigating an incident which took place in Kent View Road, in Basildon, shortly before 9pm last night (Wednesday 14 December).

It was reported that a front door had been damaged by three people, one of whom may have been armed with a firearm.

There are no reports of any injuries. At this stage, no arrests have been made and police are following a number of lines of enquiry.  

A statement from Essex Police says: "Although our investigation is in its early stages, we believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no wider threat to the public.

"We need anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam or doorbell footage of the area between 8pm and 9.30pm to get in contact as soon as possible.
