Emergency works close A13 carriageway towards Basildon

EMERGENCY roadworks have caused the closure of the A13 eastbound this afternoon and work is expected to continue into the early evening.
The carriageway was closed between the A128 (Orsett Roundabout) and A1014 (Manorway, Stanford-le-Hope) while emergency repair works are carried out.
Traffic is being diverted via the A1013 Stanford Road.
The A13, which was closed over the same stretch all through the weekend for work related to the ongoing road-widening work is expected to reopen later this evening.
