Duo arrested and charged after string of Basildon burglaries

TWO men have been charged in connection with a number of burglaries and other offences in Basildon.

It was reported that homes and sheds had been broken into in a number of streets in the town in the early hours of Thursday (25 August).

Thomas Harbour, 31, of Whitmore Way, Basildon, has been charged with three counts of burglary, causing racially and religiously aggravated intentional harassment, alarm or distress, two counts using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress, ABH, theft, and vehicle interference.

Daniel Pritchard, 31, of Hamstel Road, Southend, has been charged with two counts of burglary and one count of threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public face. 

Basildon Borough Commander Chief Insp Daniel McHugh said: "I want to personally thank my officers and a member of the public who helped us bring these charges before the court."
