THE Basildon branch of the Dog's Trust has reported it has an almost unprecedented number of animals looking for new homes.

Currently the local branch on Nevendon Road, Wickford, is looking after 35 dogs that are in need of caring owners.

You can check out the dogs by visiting the centre (by appointment only) or calling 0303 003 0000.

The animals are also on view at the branch website, which can be found via this link.

The website also has details of how you could support the charity's work.
