BREWERY chain Greene King has announced that it has changed its mind and will reopen a much-loved historic pub in Vasildon.

The Dick Turpin pub on the A127 has been closed since the beginning of the first Covid lockdown in March last year and in November 2020 it was announced it would be closed for good.

However, Greene King has now had a change of heart and is recruiting staff for a reopening in the summer.

A statement from the brewery said: We're excited to be re-opening the Dick Turpin prior to July 2021 after being closed for so long.

"We can't wait to welcome everyone in Wickford back to celebrate with us and create new memories.

"We are currently recruiting for a number of roles within our kitchen and serving team.

"We look forward to seeing you again soon."
