DETECTIVES investigating a robbery in Basildon are appealing for witnesses.

The victim reported that as he walked along Tenterfields at around 4.20pm on Friday, 10 June, a black Vauxhall Vectra pulled up alongside him and his friend.

The passenger exited the car and the teenage boy was forced to hand over his personal property and scooter, before the car, with part registration VF55, drove off.

The boy was unharmed.

Two men, 25 and 31, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery and remain in custody for questioning.

A police statement says: "We need anyone who saw anything or has any dash cam or doorbell footage from the area to contact us.

"If you have any information, you can submit a report online at https://www.essex.police.uk where you can use the 'Live Chat' button to speak to an online operator between 7am and 11pm.

"Please quote crime reference 883 of 10 June.

"You can also call us on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
