THOUSANDS of posters are being distributed in the latest attempt by a distraught Basildon family to find a lost dog.

Dory went missing earlier this month in Laindon and her owner Ellie-Ashleigh Florence is desperate that the pet be reunited with the family, which includes two-year-old cystic fibrosis sufferer Luna.

Ellie, who is also offering a reward, said Dory may have been stolen.

She says: "It's been more than three weeks now. Someone must know something?

"Dory can't just vanish we all know that for sure.

"Has your friend/family number, friend recently purchased/ found Dory? Or have you found her? She might be the sweetest adorable dog to you ever but she's not just a dog to us, she's my two year-old's best friend.

"I'm absolutely exhausted mentally and physically and I'm worried for my little girl. Losing Dory is having an effect on her.

"Please if you have her, or know anyone who has her, or anyone who knows anyone who's got her, please take the finder's fee and get another dog.

"We just need Dory home I just need my daughter have to have her best friend back. Please have a heart do the right thing. If you know anything call the numbers on this post. Anything you tell us will be completely confidential, I promise."
