Date set for public inquiry over Wickford land

A DATE has been set for a public inquiry in respect of land south of Redlands, Hovefields Drive, Wickford.

 The Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State will hold the Inquiry virtually opening at 10am on Monday, 25 July. 

 The Inquiry follows appeals by a number of residents, relating to three enforcement notices issued by Basildon Council alleging:

i. Without planning permission, operational development consisting of the importation of hard-core, scalpings and associated material, the levelling of imported material

ii. Without planning permission, operational development consisting of the laying of additional area of hardstanding, creation of roadways, access routes.

iii. Without planning permission, operational development consisting of the creation of subdivided plots by way of the erection of fence posts, fence boards and fencing.

Notice One (served 4 December 2020)

Without planning permission, the material change of use of the land for the storage of caravans.

Notice Two (served 4 December 2020)

Without planning permission, the material change in use of the Land to the stationing of caravans for residential occupation.

The Inquiry will be live-streamed on the Council's YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/BasildonCouncil
