BASILDON Council has announced that 45 electric charging points are soon to be installed on the ground level of Basildon's Great Oaks car park in the centre of the town.

A further 45 passive charging points will be installed on the first floor for if capacity is needed to be expanded in the future.

A statement from the council says: "More charging points will help our efforts to become a carbon net-zero borough by 2050."
