SOUTH Essex College, which has a campus in the heart of Basildon has been recognised by City & Guilds for its high quality apprenticeship provision.

The City & Guilds Excellence in End-Point AssessmentAward has been given to the college for a number of distinctions achieved across a variety of apprenticeship standards.

The quality mark represents excellence in Business and Motor Vehicle apprenticeships.

Jayne Sheehan, Vice Principal Growth, Innovation & Employer Engagement at the college, said: "We are very proud to receive this recognition from City & Guilds.

"The End Point Assessment in apprenticeships is a fairly new concept to training providers and the fact that the college is achieving great results is testament to the high quality apprenticeships we offer."

Megann McKinnon, Regional Business Manager at City & Guilds, said: "It was a pleasure to present the college with a special plaque to celebrate this occasion. We are delighted to mark the quality of their apprenticeship provision, congratulations and well done to the team involved."

An apprenticeship is the perfect alternative to university or college for many people, it's a great way to gain skills, knowledge and experience in a career sector while earning and learning at the same time.
