Caravans fight goes to appeal hearing

A DATE has been set for a hearing in respect of land west of Hillview, Southend Arterial Road, Wickford.

The Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State will hold the hearing opening at 10am on Tuesday 15 February at The Basildon Centre, St George's Suite, St Martin's Square, Basildon, Essex, SS14 1DL. Any person may attend the hearing and, at the Inspector's discretion, give their views, or appoint someone to speak on their behalf.

The hearing follows appeals by Mr J McEvoy, Ms S Baker, Mr J Harbour, Mr J Sabine, M Baker, Mrs Harbour and Mrs Sabine, relating to the enforcement notices issued by Basildon Council alleging:

Without planning permission, the material change in use of the land for the stationing of caravans for residential occupation.

Without planning permission, the laying of hard-core and associated material onto the land forming an area of hardstanding.

Without planning permission, the material change in use of the land for the stationing of caravans for storage purposes.
