THERE was significant disruption to traffic, schools and for resdients in Pitsea this morning (Tuesday, 25 April) following a burst water main.

The burst happened on Pitsea High Road, with residents reporting that they had been left without a water supply.

Eversley Primary School and St Margaret's Church of England Academy closed because they had also lost supply.

Essex and Suffolk Water said: "Due to a burst on one of our larger water pipes earlier this morning customers are experiencing no water/ low pressure. We're working on making the area safe before a repair can start."

It is likely work to fix the problem will run into tomorrow.
