COMMUNITIES across Basildon came together today (Sunday, 13 November) to pay tribute to those from across the region who lost their lives in conflicts around the glone.

Remembrance services were held in St Martins Square, Basildon, Billericay High Street. Laindon, Pitsea, Vange, Wickford, Ramsden Crays and Ramsden Bellhouse and there were small moments of tribute at other venues, including churches.

There were large turnouts at the main events, prompting this message from Basildon Counci: "There's been a brilliant turn out at all the events today – our borough really has honoured our fallen soldiers in the way they truly deserve."

Here is a selection of pictures from today's event.
