Essex Police force has confirmed the discovery of a body in a park in Basildon today (Sunday, 25 September).

Officers were called to Northlands Park at around 6pm following concerns for the welfare of someone.

The body of a man was discovered . His next of kin have been informed and Essex Police officers are supporting them.

The man's death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
