A CAMPAIGN is underway to restore a Basildon Church which has become unsafe.

Repeated vandalism at Salvation Chapel International in Laindon has left the building in jeopardy.

The church, a cornerstone of the Laindon community for generations, has been targeted by vandals who smashed windows and damaged parts of the building, and left essential areas unsafe

Church member Bismark Oppong is organising the campaign on behalf of the congregation, who describe the attacks on their sacred space as heartbreaking for both worshippers and the wider community who rely on it

The church needs £50,000 to repair the damage, restore the building, and install stronger security measures to prevent future attacks

So far, £1,550 has been raised of a £10,000 goal from 11 donations, including an anonymous £1,000 contribution in recent hours.
