Balaclava-clad gang with knife threatened couple and stole their car

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Basildon on Saturday evening.

Officers were called to Festival Leisure Park in Basildon at around 11.15pm (1 July) following reports of a robbery. The female and male victims were in their car when they were approached by five men wearing balaclavas.

The suspects then threatened them and held a knife to the male victim's neck. The victims were threatened further and told to get out of the car before the suspects got in and drove off. 

The stolen car is a black Audi A3. 

Enquiries are underway and no arrests have been made at this stage. 

Investigating officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious to contact them.
