WRESTLING and monster trucks are set to be main features of a classic car show near Billericay later this year.

An application has been submitted to Basildon Borough Council to allow the sale of alcohol and wrestling to be held at the Big Barleylands Classic Motor Show in September.

The show, which has been put on by Haddon Events Classic & Vintage Shows for the past two years, will feature hundreds of classic and custom vehicles, dancing displays, vintage market, trade stands plus a licenced bar and street food.

There will also be live wrestling and monster truck rides.

The application is for the sale of alcohol and live and recorded between 10am and 6pm and wrestling between 10am and 5pm on Sunday September 10.

A statement from Haddon said: "Whether you are passionate about motoring history, and want to share your love of classic vehicles with like minded people, or just enjoy a great day out, there is something for everyone at the show.

"Come and browse the huge variety of stalls on offer, enjoy the live music, have a boogie on the dancefloor, watch the live wrestling, get up close and learn about vehicles from our enthusiastic exhibitors, showing off their unique vehicles you would not normally get a chance to see, or get a bite to eat and a drink, and wear the kids out in the children's fun area."
