Air ambulance lands and takes patient to hospital after collision

THE Essex Air Ambulance landed and then transported a patient to a London hospital after an incident in Basildon this afternoon (Thursday, 19 May).

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson has given details of the incident, close to the James Hornsby school in Basildon, saying: "We were called at 5.17pm to reports of a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle on St Nicholas Lane, Laindon.

"An ambulance, an operations manager and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance attended and a patient was airlifted to Royal London Hospital for treatment."

There is no further information available at this time but we will update this report as and when we can.
