A13 fire was quickly dealt with

FIREFIGHTERS were called a grass fire on the A13 at the Five Bells roundabout in Pitsea this afternoon (Thursday, 21 July).

A statement from Essex County Fire and Rescue says: "Our control room took 55 calls to the incident and sent crews from Basildon, Rayleigh Weir and Hawkwell.

"On arrival, crews reported that grass within the central reservation of the A13 was on fire and worked quickly to extinguish the fire within 15 minutes."
