16-year-old is one of two charged with attempted murder after Basildon assault

TWO people including a 16-year-old boy have been charged with attempted murder following an assault in Basildon last month.

A statement from Essex Police says: "We were called to reports of a man in his 20s injured in Turner Close at around 9.30pm on 28 February.

"He was taken to hospital and, thankfully, his injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.

"Two people have been arrested and charged.

"Billy Alder, 22, of Ward Close, Basildon has been charged with attempted murder.

"He appeared at Southend Magistrates' Court on 7 March and is next due to appear at Basildon Crown Court on 4 April.

"A 16 year-old boy has also been charged with attempted murder.

"He appeared at Southend Magistrates' Court on Friday 11 March and is next due to appear at Basildon Crown Court on 8 April.

"Officers are continuing to make enquiries into the incident and still need anyone with information to come forward.

"We need anyone who saw anything or has any CCTV, dash cam, or doorbell footage to contact us.
